Introduction
AustCham Shenzhen, Limited is a Hong Kong registered company. We are currently progressing our application to the Chinese Government to incorporate as a non-profit organization, with the aim to be officially recognized as the first Australian representative Chamber outside of Beijing.
Our Objectives are: “to provide Members the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of China and Australia and to assist in developing sound commercial relationships by expanding professional skills and business contacts through networking and business events.”
The Founding Committee Chairman is Mr. Kenny Zhang – Chairman and CEO of the Waratah Group and a leading member of the Australian Chinese business community.
AustCham Shenzhen supports activities with other Australian (and other supportive) Chambers and actively encourages new membership with a view to broaden, facilitate and connect with Australian business activities within the Greater China network.
AustCham Shenzhen was founded in 2007 in response to the need to represent the growing number of Australians doing business in Shenzhen, and to help form ties with Chinese businesses investing in Australia or promoting Australian goods and services in China.
AustCham Shenzhen Limited was incorporated in March 2008 and is governed by the rules applicable to all Hong Kong incorporated entities and is managed by a ‘Founding Committee’ of volunteers who assist in planning events and activities. It has no paid employees.
The chamber is an inclusive organization with a broad ranging constituency of both nationalities and commercial activities represented. The common link is a desire to develop and improve business relationships between Australia and China , with a particular focus on Shenzhen and the surrounding districts.
