Introduction
The Shenzhen American International School has been approved by the Education Ministry of China. Our school is a branch school of Lee Academy, in Maine, which was established in 1845.
The teaching method is in complete accord with the American education system. All of our teachers are American certified teachers that have been selected for their level of training and compassion for their students. SAIS is offering a tuition incentive to enroll students for the 2009/2010 school year. We welcome you to visit our school.
High school tuition fees are 95,250 RMB per year but include free lunch, transport and books. The school now has over 200 students from more than 15 countries.

In September of 2011 six faculty members (including myself) left the school over failure of the school to obtain the appropriate visas that they were under contract to provide the faculty. There are many amazing American educators at this school, but I would advise you to do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions, because not everything this school says is entirely true.
Don’t forget to check out SIS, QSI, and Green Oasis International Shools first, before making your mind. They have very good, if not better curriculum. Some of these have been around for a very long time. SAIS has been around for less than 2 years.

Introduction to Shenzhen American International School
SAIS received the approval of the Ministry Of Education, opening its doors two years ago. Our first campus, opened in Nanshan in 2009, and accommodates approximately 200 students. Due to the success of this campus we are currently adding a second campus in Futian that will house 500 students. Our Nanshan campus will provide classes for preschoolers (3 and 4 year olds) through elementary grades. The Futian campus will offer classes for preschoolers through 9th grade.
SAIS offers an American education to students in preschool through 9th grade. Our teachers are educated and licensed in the United States. Our textbooks and materials are all from the U. S. We utilize the most up to-date texts and programs which are currently used in the U.S.
Our student to teacher ratio, at both campuses is 20:1. Preschool and primary classes, at both campuses, have, in addition to the teacher, trained classroom para-professionals to assist the students under the direction of the teacher.
Our outdoor activity area will offer a rock climbing wall, basketball, four square, hopscotch, etc. and a separate play area for our little ones in the primary grades at the Futian campus. We are planning to install a new child-centered play area at our Nanshan campus for our students there.
Along with instruction in English, in the areas of science, social studies, math, reading, art, music, P. E. and technology, we believe that our students must be taught Chinese language and culture, which we include in our instructional program. Our goal is to provide a well-balanced education for all of our students.
