InterContinental Hotel Shenzhen

Introduction

InterContinental Hotels Group opened its seventh InterContinental brand in China with the InterContinental Shenzhen. The hotel has eight levels with two wings for 540 guestrooms, suites and serviced residences, eight restaurants and bars, a pillar-less Grand Ballroom and eight choices of event rooms, and complemented with world class hospitality services and facilities synonymous with the InterContinental brand.

The hotel is the country’s first luxury hotel in fascinating themes of Spain and the first full service Wedding Boutique complete with floral to gown selections and a chapel-styled service. A stunning life-sized Spanish Galleon Restaurant & Bar, overlooking the driveway to the hotel’s reception presents an awe-inspiring sense of arrival.

To the community of Shenzhen, InterContinental’s Shennan Road address is a culturally, artistically and historically significant one. From 1982, Shenzhen Bay Hotel, the city’s first full service hotel then, received dignitaries and guests from around the world and remained the venue of choice for the community’s most celebrated events. In February 2004, Shenzhen Bay Hotel began demolition works to make way for the needs of today’s worldly travellers.

For all those significant moments, the owners of the hotel, OCT Hotels Group, have carefully retained the original façade of Shenzhen Bay Hotel and commemorated it with the year 1982, while the new façade behind features the year of InterContinental Shenzhen’s inception – 2006.
