Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen

Introduction

Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen is conveniently located in the heart of Nanshan new commercial development zone, between Futian district and Shekou area, close to the High-Tech Park, with easy access to the Shenzhen International Airport and the new Shenzhen Bay cross-over bridge to Hong Kong.

Opened in 2006, the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen is a deluxe property located in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District. The hotel is surrounded by a large upscale shopping mall, an in-door ice skating rink, Poly Theatre, a 1700 seat futuristic auditorium and lots of upscale residential high rises.

The hotel’s exterior is high-rise and not especially note worthy so one is taken aback by the breathtaking circular lobby with a massive glass gold and red object d’art cum chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It resembles a giant stylized torch. This motif is repeated throughout the golden lobby. Mosaic black and gold floors add drama to an already theatrical space.

The smallest of the contemporary guest rooms, Superior, are 32 m² while the Deluxe rooms are a bit more spacious at 35 m². All rooms have free high speed broadband Internet access, IDD/DDD telephone with voicemail. Phone calls within China are free of charge. 32” LCD TVs are standard with 43 satellite international TV & Radio channels. Electrical outlets are dual voltage (110V/220V).

Most of the rooms feature Super King beds with Western pillow top mattresses. The rooms have safes, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, bottled drinking water, and fresh fruit, turn down service, bathrobes and slippers. Bathrooms are sleek and modern with the usual hairdryer and bath amenities including an adjustable shaving/make up mirror, separate rain forest shower and bath tub.

There are 20 dedicated Ladies Executive rooms with special amenities such a pink robes and flowered sheets.

Shenzhen Bay Bridge which links the city to Hong Kong is a five minute drive and a subway line will be opening in 2010. For those doing business in Shenzhen’s Hi-Tech Zone or needing easy access to Hong Kong, the location is a rather good choice.
