Info: By far the best theater for expats based in Shekou or Nanshan, Coastal City Cinema impresses thanks to its glitzy décor, vast number of screens, and the diverse array of restaurants and attractions in the surrounding mall. Its location’s highly convenient as well, as it’s only 15-20 minutes away from Sea World by taxi, but is also situated right next to the highway leading towards the central districts of Futian and Luohu.

Info: Shenzhen’s most upmarket cinema, the MixC is currently the largest cinema complex in Guangdong, featuring over 12 cinema halls equipped with state of the art digital projectors and surround sound audio systems. Bigger doesn’t always equal better though, as the cinema’s increased price and relatively obscure location ultimately make it less of an attractive option for residents living outside of Luohu in districts such as Futian and Nanshan.
